Benjamin was bitten by the racing bug at a very young age, but only started competitive racing at the age of twelve. He began karting in the French National Championship and climbed the ladder all the way up to the IAME International Final in 2018.
In 2018, aged 15, Benjamin made his debut in single-seater racing, contesting his rookie season with DriveX School in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship.
For the 2019 season - following in his father's footsteps, Benjie graduated to sports cars. Aged just 16-years-old he joined GPX Racing in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and was awarded with the SRO Merit Award by the series organisers at a prestigious event in Las Vegas.
He has also contested multiple GT and endurance races, taking four wins in the Spanish GT Championship and finishing on the podium at both the Barcelona 24 Hours and the Abu Dhabi 12 Hours.
In 2020 Benjamin will continue his GT3 career in the world-class series that has been renamed the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
GT WORLD CHALLENGE
Reserved for cars confirming to GT3 regulations and using SRO Motorsports Group’s globally recognised Balance of Performance criteria, GT World Challenge Europe is renowned for producing all-action racing between leading drivers, teams and automotive brands.
The present-day championship can trace its roots back to 2011, when SRO partnered with Swiss watch manufacturer Blancpain to create the Blancpain Endurance Series.
Encouraged by this success, SRO and Blancpain partnered once again in 2014 to create the Sprint Series, which adopted the same blueprint that had formed the Endurance category while testing competitors in short-format races.
The championship continue to grow, with increased grids and ever-greater standards of competition coming to the fore. This was highlighted by record numbers at the Total 24 Hours of Spa, with an incredible 72-car entry list in 2019.
The series has been renamed GT World Challenge Europe for the 2020 season. Nevertheless, the fundamentals of GT World Challenge Europe remain the same. There will once again be a total of 10 rounds at high-level circuits, split evenly between the Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup, while the Total 24 Hours of Spa remains as the marquee event. The season ahead will see the great race celebrate its 20th running since GT rules were adopted in 2001, as well as its 10th using the GT3 platform.
