GTWCE - BARCELONA

BENJAMIN GOETHE TO STAY WITH WRT FOR FULL GTWCE CAMPAIGN

ROFGO Junior driver Benjamin Goethe will contest the 2022 GT World Challenge Europe season with Team WRT, staying with the team for a third season.

Goethe joined Team WRT in 2020 for a four-race GTWCE Endurance Cup campaign and already proved his talent, despite his young age. In 2021, he completed his first full season in the most competitive GT3 field in the world, claiming two podium finishes for WRT in Monza and in Misano respectively.

Benjamin started 2022 at the 24H of Dubai with an overall podium, and he is aiming to carry the momentum to the European leg of his racing season.

Benjamin Goethe:

“I am thrilled to stay with WRT for another season. Besides being one of the most successful teams on the grid, they are like a big family, and I really enjoyed working with them in the past two years, With all the knowledge and experience I gained so far, my aim is to improve on last year’s results and take my first win in both championships. I can’t wait to get started!”

He will share the #30 Audi R8 LMS EVO II with Dubai 24 teammate Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer (FRA, 21) and Thomas Neubauer (FRA, 22) in five endurance races, including the greatest GT3 race on the motorsport calendar: the 24 Hours of Spa, and will team up with Neubauer for the five-round Sprint Cup.

The 2022 GTWCE season commences on 7-8 March with the official test days at Circuit Paul Ricard followed by the season opener Endurance Cup round on April 1-3 at Imola.
